Gather tools: screwdriver (Phillips/flat), pliers, soft brush, microfiber cloths, mild detergent, baby-safe cleaner, disinfectant wipes, basin, towel.
Read manual: check manufacturer’s instructions for removal and washing limits.
Detach cover: unhook elastic, snaps, and Velcro; slide cover off gently to avoid stretching.
Wash fabric cover: each seat is different with different manufacturer’s instructions.
Clean foam/padding: spot-clean with mild detergent and a damp cloth; avoid soaking and do not use harsh chemicals.
Inspect and clean buckles: rinse buckle with warm water; do not submerge if manual warns—wipe and test click function repeatedly until debris clears.
Clean plastic shell and base: wipe with warm soapy water, soft brush for crevices, rinse and dry thoroughly; disinfect if desired with manufacturer-safe wipe.
